Will my insurance cover the cost of services at CVG Health Psychology
Dr. Grosse and any other provider that may be affiliated with CVG Health Psychology are all out-of-network. This means that we do not file insurance on your behalf or work directly with any insurance company. CVG Health Psychology does provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company. This does not guarantee reimbursement.
If you plan to use your insurance benefits, CVG Health Psychology encourages you to reach out to your insurance provider directly to inquire about their reimbursement policies and rates for out-of-network mental health/behavioral health services. The contact information is typically on your insurance card. It may be called mental health or behavioral health depending on the insurance carrier.
Here are a few helpful questions to ask your insurance company when you contact them regarding your out-of-network mental health/behavioral health services.
- What are my out-of-network outpatient mental health/behavioral health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and how much of my deductible have I met?
- May I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
- What is the process for reimbursement?
- How do I submit my reimbursement?
- Are there any additional forms I need to submit when I submit my superbill?
- Are there any limitations on how many appointments per year that will be covered for reimbursement?
- How often should I submit my superbill(s)? How many superbills can I submit at a time?
- What is the coverage amount per appointment? CVG Health Psychology uses the following CPT codes, but not all codes may apply to your situation.
- CPT 90791 Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation
- CPT 90837 Psychotherapy 60 minutes with patient (53 + minutes)
- CPT 90834 Psychotherapy 45 minutes with patient (38-52 minutes)
- CPT 90847 Family Psychotherapy (conjoint psychotherapy) (with patient present)
- How long will it take to be reimbursed?
- Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?
- Do my benefits cover telehealth services (online counseling)?
- Do my benefits cover over the phone (phone only) services?
Can I use my flexible spending account (FSA) or my health savings account (HSA)?
CVG Health Psychology is set up to accept FSA and HSA payments. However, just like insurance users, we recommend contacting the administrator of your program to ask about eligibility and reimbursement policies. In some cases, an administrator may require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Even then some FSA and HSA transactions are declined by the issuing bank for a variety of reasons. You must reach out to your issuing banking institution to understand why the charge is not being accepted.
